If the PX-2300R is inserted in a Meridian diagnostic subrack (SR-2000/S1-PC) with communication and
interface cards, it is necessary to connect Cable #3 between the RS-485 (RJ45) port on the PX-2300R
and the communication card (RJ11) on the SpectraSmart chassis. SpectraSmart will then discover and
identify the PX-2300R as a Master module in a ring or string configuration, depending on module switch
settings

To monitor the PX-2300R using SpectraSmart PC, the card should be configured as a Primary Master
modem with an address of “0”. PX-2300R has two connectors to interface with the computer. The top
connector is an RJ45 for the RS-232 interface while the second connector is a standard USB connector.
