soft key. You will also want to set up the
Meas/Sim
line and the
Measure
line for the specific switch test desired.
Meas/Sim
refers to the action the
MFT needs to perform for the input to the device under test (this could be Measure a pressure or temperature
to a device under test or Simulate a RTD or T/C value to a device under test).
Measure
refers to the action the
MFT needs to perform for the output from the device under test (for switches this will usually be measuring the
switch circuit voltage on the MFT’s IV line). See the
Calibrate Key
section of this manual for more details.
Example: Wet bulb temperature switch test
Install a VMA0055 module in bay location S1 of the MFT
Install an RIO4000 module in bay location S3 of the MFT
Place the wet bulb probe of the temperature switch in a temperature bath or dry block tester
Place an RTD in the same bath or tester and connect the RTD to the RIO4000 (see the
RIO4000 section of this manual for more details).
Connect the Volts and Common jacks of the VMA0055 module to the switch to be tested.
Use the MFT interface to set up the Calibrate Key Main Menu screen as follows:
