Starting the vehicle with the start/stop but‐

Requirements:

the key is in the vehicle and is recognised.

Shift the transmission to position

Depress the brake pedal and press button

once.

The drive system is started.
R
The display

appears in the multi‐
function display: the vehicle can be
driven.

If the vehicle does not start: switch off non-
essential consumers and press button
1
once.

If the vehicle still does not start and the dis‐
play message
Place the key in the marked
space See Owner's Manual
also appears in
the multifunction display: start the vehicle
with the key in the marked space (emergency
operation mode) (

You can switch off the drive system while
driving. By pressing button

for about
three seconds or by pressing button

three times within three seconds. The trans‐
mission shifts to neutral

automatically.
When you press button

again, the drive
system starts again and you can engage
drive position

again. Be sure to observe
the safety notes under "Driving tips"

page 153).
Observe any information regarding display mes‐
sages that can be displayed in the multifunction
display.
