Switching to cassette mode

Open the cassette cover (

and insert a cassette (

The cassette cover (

open in order to insert a cassette. After in-
serting a cassette, you should close the
cover again.

The cassette cover opens.

The audio system ejects a tape that is
already inserted.

Closing cassette cover

Push down at the mark on the cassette
cover (

page 11) until it latches in.

If the cassette cover remains open for
more than 30 seconds, a signal tone
briefly sounds to remind you to close
the cover.
When the cassette cover is open,
you cannot access the CD changer*

partment in the center console.

In order to avoid distraction, which could
lead to an accident, only insert cassettes
when the vehicle is at a standstill. The driver
should only operate the system when
road and traffic conditions permit.

Bear in mind that at a speed of just 30 mph/
h (approximately 50 km/h), your car is cov-
ering a distance of 50 feet (approximately
14 m) every second.
