Stop the vehicle to enter data into the navi-
gation system. Attention would otherwise
be drawn away from the traffic.
The navigation system is unable to take ac-
count of the load-bearing capacity of bridg-
es or the permissible headroom in tunnels or
under bridges. The driver is responsible for
ensuring that bridge load-bearing capacities
and maximum headroom capacities are not
exceeded.

Operate the audio or mobile communication
equipment only when road and traffic condi-
tions permit. Attention would otherwise be
drawn away from the traffic.
Bear in mind that at a speed of just 30 mph
(approximately 50 km /h), the vehicle is
covering a distance of some 50 feet (ap-
proximately 14 m) every second.

In the Federal Republic of Germany it is
forbidden to use mobile telephones
without a permanently installed hands-
free system while the vehicle is in mo-
tion or while the engine is running.
