Function of airbag and belt tensioner
The airbag and belt tensioners are only op-
erational once the key has been turned to
position
2 in the ignition lock.
The airbag and belt tensioners will be trig-
gered from a certain degree of vehicle de-
celeration, e.g. in a frontal collision.
The seat belt will tension automatically so
that the strap is close to the body.

Although smoke is released, this neither
constitutes a health hazard nor implies
that fire has broken out in the vehicle.
Risk of injury

To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury
caused by inflation of the airbag in millisec-
onds, observe the following:
Choose a seat position that allows you
to sit a far back from the airbag as pos-
sible, but still allows you to drive the ve-
hicle safely.
Ensure that small children are kept away
from the airbag inflation point as serious
or fatal injuries could otherwise result.
