5.2 To adjust the tension of the saw
chain
Warning!
Wear safety gloves when you adjust the
tension of the saw chain.
Caution!
Do a check of the chain tension before using
the product for the first time and after the first cut.
A saw chain becomes longer when you use it. Adjust the
saw chain regularly.

Loosen the lock nut that holds the drive sprocket
cover.

Lift the front of the guide bar and turn the chain
tensioning screw.

Tighten the saw chain until it is tight against the
guide bar.

Tighten the lock nut.

Make sure that you can pull the saw chain around
freely by hand and that it does not hang from the
guide bar. (Figure 13)
5.3 To lubricate the bar tip sprocket
Warning!
Wear safety gloves when you handle the
chain and guide bar.
Warning!
Switch off the product, disconnect the
power plug and wait until all moving parts have come to a
full stop before lubrication of the bar tip sprocket.
The bar tip sprocket should be lubricated at intervals of 25
working hours, or once a week during intensive use.

Clean the sprocket.

Put grease into the lubrication hole until it comes out
at the edge of the bar.

Pull the saw chain by hand.

Repeat until the sprocket is fully lubricated.
5.4 To do a check of the chain brake
Warning!
Make sure that the saw chain does not touch the
ground or other objects.
The chain brake stops the chain immediately when the
kickback guard is activated.

Put the product on stable ground and start it.

Push the kickback guard forward. The chain should
stop immediately. (Figure 14)
5.5 To do a check of the power trigger
and trigger lockout

Make sure that the power trigger and trigger lockout
move freely.

Start the product and apply full power.

Release the power trigger and make sure that the
saw chain stops and stays stationary.
5.6 To do a check of the saw chain
lubrication
Caution!
Do not use the product if the chain is not
lubricated enough, this will cause additional wear on the
chain.

Inspect the oil level in the tank. Refer to “5.1 To fill with
saw chain oil” på sid. 48.

Start the product and let it run. Hold the bar
approximately 15 cm (6 inches) above a light colored
surface.
5.7 To clean the product

Remove debris from the product.
●
Wipe the product with a damp cloth.
5.7.1 To clean the oil channel in the guide bar
Caution!
Do not use metal tools to clean the oil
channel.

Remove the guide bar. Refer to “3.1 To assemble the
bar and the chain” på sid. 46.

Clean the oil channel in the guide bar.

Install the guide bar.
