PDT Control menu
(PDT = Phoneme Discrimination Training)
You are in the PDT control menu.
In this chapter you learn how you can adjust and apply the PDT to your client’s speci
fi
c needs. You may
choose from more than 400 syllables and de
fi
ne your own training scenarios. Results are saved and can
later be analyzed / reviewed in MediTOOLs for comparison.

ne your own syllable list:
You may create individual training lists with speci
fi
c syllable groups for your client(s).They can consist of
up to eight different VCV words which will be presented at random during training.
1. Press T1 on top of the symbol
to open the submenu for PDT
fi
le se-
lection. You see the
fi
rst of more than 400 available VCV words from which
you can choose for training. An arrow points at the
fi
rst entry on your list.
2. Press T15 to scroll down that list. The arrow always marks the current
VCV word which you could add to your training selection.
3. Press T15 until you found the
fi
rst VCV word that you want to add to your
training list.
4. Press T14 in order to add the currently marked word into the word list.
5. Repeat these two steps until your list of up to eight VCV words is comple-
te. You can check the number of selected VCV words from the correspon-
ding display information.
Advice:
In particular select VCV words into your word group with which your client is struggling discri-
minating. For solid training results it is recommended to choose VCV words that are similar and
easily mixed up.
6. If you select a VCV word that is already in your list, you receive a corresponding warning. Simply
press T12 or T15 in order to skip the message and continue with your selection process..
7. Press T4 (
) once you have created a word list with less than 8 words and wish to save it.
When you select 8 words, this is done automatically. A message appears asking if you wish to save
your selection. You will see a complete listing of the VCV words you selected on top oft hat question.
