Correct repair procedure
If the plug, power line or the device is damaged or if liquids or foreign bodies enter the device,
remove the plug immediately from the socket.
In order to reduce risks: if the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
the manufacturer’s customer service department or a similarly qualified person.
No objects should get into the device, e. g. through the ventilation slots. They could touch parts that
conduct electricity or damage the device's components.
When unplugging the device, always pull the mains plug from the socket, never pull on the cable.
Thunder storms
Unplug the device and pull out the aerial if you are away for a long period of time or there is a storm.
Laser class
The DVD recorder is a Class 1 laser product. The device has a safety system that
prevents dangerous laser rays escaping during normal use. In order to avoid eye
injuries, never manipulate or damage the security system of the device.
The remote control has a class 1 infrared diode. Do not examine the laser with optical devices.
Battery handling
Batteries can contain combustible materials. If not handled correctly batteries can leak, become
very hot, ignite or even explode, which could damage your appliance or/and your health.
Please ensure compliance with the following advice:
Never charge batteries (unless it is clearly indicated).
Never discharge batteries by high power output.
Never short-circuit the batteries.
Never expose the batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or similar.
Do take apart or deform the batteries. Your hands or fingers could get injured or battery fluids could get into
your eyes or onto your skin. If this should happen then rinse the affected areas immediately with a large
amount of clean water and contact your doctor immediately.
Always observe the correct polarity. Make sure that the plus (+) and minus (-) poles are correctly
inserted in order to avoid short circuits.
Immediately remove used batteries from the appliance.
Remove the batteries from the appliance if you do not intend to use it for a long period of time.
Replace all the old batteries in an appliance with new batteries of the same type.
Before inserting the batteries, check that the contacts in the device and on the batteries are clean and, if
necessary, clean them.
Cleaning the unit
Remove the power plug from the socket outlet before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using chemical
solutions and cleaning products because these may damage the device's surface and/or labels.
