Tracking
Tracking means the video tape's optimal alignment, preventing snow or stripes, for example, on the
picture.
Automatic Tracking
After a video cassette has been inserted, the tape is aligned automatically. This guarantees that the picture is
displayed perfectly and clearly. The tape is also readjusted, if you change tape speeds (SP or LP) or if
interference occurs in the picture.
Manual Tracking
If automatic alignment does not align the picture as well as possible, you can execute tracking manually.

During playback, press the TRACKING – or + keys on the remote control. Keep tapping the key until the
picture quality improves.

If the picture visibly deteriorates, try to execute an alignment in the other direction, by pressing the other
tracking button.
A recording made from an inferior video signal cannot be improved by tracking.
