Playing Voices
• Insert Effect: Press the “Insert” button to add an effect to the Voice. There is a wide selection of insert effects available.
Some of them can enrich the sound, for example, try adding distortion to the guitar voice, or use some effects to make
your performance more realistic like adding delay to an electronic piano.
Tips:
The instrument insert effects have been optimized for each Voice. To make modifications, refer to the section
on effects.
• Mono: Press the Mono button to make the Voice play monophonically (single notes only). In this mode, the keyboard
will only produce one sound no matter how many keys you press at the same time.
Tips:
Some voices are set to Mono by default according to their charactors. Others also apply a portamento or lega-
to effect (portamento effect is also applied to some voices with poly mode).
You can edit the playing mode of voice and save as a User Voice. Please refer to relevant section for more
details.
Other built-in other part effects like “Slicer” add a chopping effect and note filter. Experiment with the different effects to
find the ones you like best.
Enter the “Part Effect” menu through “Global Setting” to add more keyboard effects to your playing.
Using the Joystick to Adjust Pitch and Voice
Move the Joystick up, down, left, or right to change keyboard pitch or voice effects. After releasing it, the Joystick will
return to the neutral position.
The Joystick default function for left and right movement is Pitch Bend, which changes the note pitch lower or higher. The
up direction by default is Modulation; this makes the note play in vibrato.
The Joystick up and down parameters can be assigned in the “Controllers” menu.
Tips:
Using the Joystick lets you play some voices more realistically and expressively.
You can also assign Joystick parameters using the voice editor and save your settings. Refer to the section on
“Controllers” for more details.
