Turn the key switch to platform control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the ON
position at both the ground and platform controls.
Push down the horn button at the platform controls.
Result:
The horn should sound.
10 - Test the Drive Brakes
Tools will be required to perform this procedure.
This procedure is to be performed every 3 months or every 250 hours, whichever comes first.
Proper brake action is essential to safe machine operation. The drive brake function should operate
smoothly, free of hesitation, jerking and unusual noise.
Hydraulically-released individual wheel brakes can appear to operate normally when not fully
operational.
Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm level surface that is free of obstructions, with the
platform extension deck fully retracted and the platform in the stowed position.
Mark 2 test lines on the ground for reference.
Turn the key switch to platform control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the ON
position at both the ground and platform controls.
Lower the platform to the stowed position.
Press the drive function select button on the upper controls.

Choose a point on the machine; i.e., contact patch of a tire, as a visual reference for use when
crossing the test line.
Bring the machine to top drive speed before reaching the test line. Release the function enable
switch or the joystick when your reference point on the machine crosses the test line.
Measure the distance between the test line and your machine reference point.
Result:
The machine stops within the specified braking distance. No action required.
Result:
The machine does not stop within the specified braking distance.
Note:
The brakes must be able to hold the machine on any slope it is able to climb.
Replace the brakes and repeat this procedure beginning with step 1.
