Connections
Panel wiring
Fire detection wiring must be separated from other usage wiring.
Zone circuits must be terminated with a 4700 ohm EOL resistor (provided with
panel) in the last device.
If a zone is not used, plug the EOL resistor directly in the panel terminals.
Manual call point wiring
Manual call points are connected to the panel with a zenner diode
or a 100ohm resistor.
According to the EN54-2 the maximum number of manual call points
in a zone shall not be higher than 32.
Please check your
country’s
local regulations.
Detectors wiring
Detectors are connected directly to the zone terminals. It is also required to include a EOL resistor in the
last device. If is not fi tted a fault will be indicated in the zone, lighting the corresponding
LED and a buzzer tone.
This EOL resistor is required and is part of the
monitoring circuit of the zone.
Always read the detectors manual for more details. The sum of the total current consumption
of all detectors and manual call points in a zone must not exceed 3mA.
For instance:
If a detector has 150uA current absorption, the maximum number of detectors
per zone is 3000uA/150uA=20 detectors.
NOTA:
EN54-2: 8.2.4
“The control panel must indicate a zone fault if the zone wire is
cut or short circuited”
NOTE:
EN54-2 ANEXO D
“An alarm zone cannot monitor more than 32 detection devices”
