5.21 FUSES
• The electrical equipment includes eight fuses protecting the
main components against faults. These are located in the
glove compartment (Fig. 40). They are:
A) 15 A Lights
B) 7.5 A Stop light + indicators
C) 5 A Control unit
D) 5 A Relay
E) 25 A Main
F) 10 A Coil - Fuel pump - Injector
G) 7.5 A Fan
H) 3 A Main control unit power supply
• To replace a fuse, just open the lower fairing cover and, using
the pliers supplied, extract the blown fuse and replace it with
one of the same capacity. Inside the lower fairing compart-
ment, you will find some spare fuses. Check that the fuse you
are using has the same amperage of the fuse you are replac-
ing.
• The vehicle features another main protection fuse, (30 A) lo-
cated inside the battery compartment (Fig. 40b).
If the main protection fuse blows during use, check how seri-
ous the causes are. Then have the vehicle checked by an
Authorised MALAGUTI Service Centre.
Do not replace the fuse with one having a higher capacity,
as it could seriously damage the electrical equipment
and cause a fire on the vehicle in the event of a short
circuit.
If the fuses blow, even if they have been replaced,
have them checked by an Authorised MALAGUTI
Service Centre.
Should it be necessary to remove the battery or main
fuse, wait at least 30 seconds after turning off with the
key in the “OFF”
position to allow the control system
to store the necessary data correctly.
