Set the wheel to run with a slight amount to lead away
from the furrow wall. To adjust the lead of / the fur-
row wheel, loosen the bolts and later the angle, at
which the wheel runs, by means of the setscrews.
This adjustment will alter the width of the front fur-
row. Check and reset the rockshaft if necessary to ob-
tain correct width of cut on front furrow.
Set the height of the rear furrow wheel so that the
edge of the disc is from 25.4 mm to 50.8 mm below
the level of the bottom of the discs. To set the height,
slacken locknut and screw head of spring rod to raise
or lower the disc as required. When the desired set-
ting is obtained tighten lower locknut against the spring
rod pivot.
Tension the rear furrow wheel spring by adjusting the
spring retainer nut. After obtaining the desired ten-
sion, lock the spring in position by means of the upper
lock nut.
Excess spring tension tends to lift the disc, while too
little tension will allow the plough to ride on the discs
and cause excessive side draft.
Under hard ground conditions, spring pressure setting
is critical for reducing side draft. Set the furrow wheel
scraper blade to clear both the furrow wheel and the
furrow wheel disc. Adjustment If made by means of
the bolts in the furrow wheel scraper blade. Set the
blade as close as possible to the wheel and disc, en-
suring that contact Is not made when the wheel re-
volves through a full turn.
Rear furrow wheel Adjustments
To assists in reducing side draft:
1. Ensure that the front furrow is not cutting overwidth.
2. Ensure that the front furrow is not deeper than re-
maining furrow, See ‘levelling the plough’.
3. Increase furrow wheel lead.
4. Increase furrow wheel spring pressure.
5. Move furrow wheel across furrow to the left.

1. Increase furrow wheel lead
2. Move furrow wheel to the left.
