Disc Plough

The rockshaft must be adjusted so that the rear landside
A. Illustration 5 operates with just light pressure against
the rear furrow wall. This ensures that side draft is di-
vided between the plough and the tractor and a good job
of ploughing can be done.

If the landside is set with too much pressure against the
furrow wall there will be excessive side draft on the plough.
This increases the load on the tractor and causes the
landside to wear rapidly. If the landside is set with no
pressure against the furrow wall there will be excessive
side draft on the tractor making if difficult to steer and
poor quality work will result.
