Inspection process with a motor-driven
magnetising coil (longitudinal magnetisation)
-
continued
Prerequisites
• Workpiece is inserted
• The machine is in the initial position.
• Magnetising coil is in the initial position
Procedure
1. Clamp the workpiece. Depending on the
configuration of your: machine:
• Operate push-button Clamp [1b] or
• Push the footswitch [1a] (option)
• Push the two-hand control [1b] (option)
This will move the sleeves to the front position [2].
2. Turn on the magnetisation [4}. Depending on the
configuration of your machine:
• press the push-button Magnetising
• press the footswitch [3] (option)
In both cases:
• PLC controls the process automatically.
• The magnetising current is switched on [4]
• The coil moves to the right-most position [5] and,
simultaneously, the ring shower (option) or the
hand-spray sprays the workpiece with test liquid
(selector switch Permanent Spraying must be on).
• The spraying switches off automatically.
• The coil moves back to the left-most position [6]
3. Inspect the workpiece, with a UV lamp if using
fluorescent test liquid. [8].
4. Workpiece rotation [8] depends on the
configuration of your machine.
• If
manual
workpiece rotation equipment is
installed, turn on the device at both sides and at
the same time (option: inductive sensors request).
• If
motor-driven
(option) workpiece rotation
equipment is installed, press the push-button
Rotate.
5. Press the push-button Unclamp [11]. This will
unclamp the workpiece and move the sleeves
back to the rear-most position.
NOTE:
Unclamp
only
when the workpiece is in the
initial position.
Before releasing the sleeves in manual or automatic
mode without a loader, the workpiece must be secured
to a suspension device (crane, forklift).
WARNING:
Heavy workpieces can fall
from their position and cause serious
personal injury and property damage.
• Place the workpiece gently into position to avoid
damage.
• Never move the carriage with a workpiece in it.
• Never make adjustments to the carriage when a
workpiece is in it.
• Only unclamp the workpiece when it is secured
against falling using suitable hoisting equipment
(not included with the machine).
• Do not walk under a suspended load.
9.6 CLEANING THE MACHINE
Clean the machine:
• only when it is switched off,
• either with used test liquid or with water and a hose
with a low pressure nozzle,
• always before replacing the test liquid.
NEVER clean the machine with compressed air or
solvents.
Procedure
1. Remove all workpieces from the machine.
2. Spray the interior of the machine with the hand
shower or hose.
3. When cleaning with water from an external source,
note that the water will run into the test liquid tank.
Make sure it does not overflow.
4. Remove any dirt by rubbing with a clean cloth. Do
not use metal tools.
5. Empty and clean the test liquid tank.
6. Fill with new test liquid.
