8.5 ADJUST WORKPIECE SUPPORT ON THE
SLEEVE OR ROLLER BLOCK (OPTION)
Depending on the size and shape of the workpiece
ends, different supports may be required.
Adjust the workpiece supports to the diameter of the
workpiece.
Procedure:
1. Remove workpiece from the machine [1].
2. Turn off the machine and secure it against being
inadvertently switched on.
3. Loosen the bolts on the workpiece support [2].
4. Move workpiece supports so that the workpiece is
clamped centrally in the sleeve.
5. Adjust the workpiece supports so that the work-
piece is in secure contact with the rollers.
6. If necessary, change the workpiece support.
7. Re-tighten the bolts.
8. Insert workpiece, clamp and check the contact.
WARNING:
Heavy workpieces can
fall off the supports and cause serious
personal injury and property damage.
Workpiece supports that are not firmly clamped can
be displaced by the drive roller and the workpiece can
then fall.
• Always adjust the workpiece supports correctly to
the diameter of the workpiece.
• Always tighten the clamping bolts on the work-
piece support.
• Never move the carriage with a workpiece in it.
• Do not make adjustments to the carriage when a
workpiece is in it.
• Only unclamp the workpiece when it is secured
against falling using suitable hoisting equipment
(not included with the machine).
• Do not walk under a suspended load.
8.6 REFIT THE THREADING CONDUCTOR
CAUTION:
Heavy magnetisation
mandrel can cause injury to hands and
fingers.
• Hold the magnetising mandrel in both hands.
• If lifting a magnetising mandrel with a hoist, use
suitable harness for safe transport.
• keep unauthorised personnel away from the
machine.
Depending on the size of the workpiece, a suitable
threading conductor can be installed. To select the
correct threading conductor, see separate table.
The threading conductor is attached to the mandrel
with dowel pins or screws. With large threading
conductors, 2 people and/or suitable lifting gear are
necessary to make the change.
Installing the threading conductor (different versions)
1. Dowel pins and nuts
2. Threading conductor
3. Fastening screws.
