Class 2 Wiring
Important Notes

Install in accordance with all applicable regulations.
WARNING: Shock Hazard. May result in personal injury or death.
Do not connect line voltage/mains power to device.

This control uses SELV / PELV / NEC
®
Class 2 wiring methods. Check with your local electrical inspector for compliance
with national and local codes and wiring practices.
• Make daisy-chain connections to the SELV / PELV / NEC
®
Class 2 Data Link terminals on the end of the Control Interface.
• Do not use T-taps. Run all wires in and out of the terminal block.
Note:
QS Link can be T-tapped.
• Each terminal accepts up to two 18 AWG (1.0 mm
2
) wires or one 12 AWG (4.0 mm
2
) wire.

Notes
• Do not connect Drain / Shield to Ground
(Earth) or Wallstation/Control Interfaces.
Connect the bare drain wires and cut off
the outside shield.
• 12 AWG (4.0 mm

) conductors for
Common (terminal 1) and V+ (terminal 2)
will not fit in terminals; use 18 AWG
(1.0 mm
2
) pigtails (< 6 in/152 mm).
• Do not wire terminal 2 on Data Link
when using optional transformer.
Note:
The QS wired communication link is limited to 100
devices or 100 zones. Refer to the QS Link Power Draw
Units specification submittal (Lutron PN 369405) for more
information concerning Power Draw Units.
