CHAPTER 2:  Features and Functions

This chapter will introduce the full control capabilities of the remote, with examples of some typical
control scheme examples.

The chapter will begin with a detailed front view of the remote with labeled callouts (localizable) for all
buttons and the display area, and a rear view with battery compartment and charging terminals.

Next, the control capabilities of the remote will be covered.  This will differ from the web and print
marketing materials, as it will describe features from the user’s perspective.  Illustrated topics will
include:

Capability to control thousands of a/v components and home electronic devices, by selecting your
device from the exhaustive Harmony device database;

Capability to custom-configure devices and button functions not listed in the database;

Capability to learn button functions from other remotes;

Capability to create ‘activities’ – groups of custom-defined device commands which allow for 1-touch
control of your favorite entertainment activities;

Charging station and rechargeable battery;

IR

and

 RF control capabilities;

Ergonomics – comfort-grip shape, customizable LCD display and backlit controls;

Interactive, online setup;

Built-in Help button;

Personalized customer account and free product support.

Finally, this section should include two examples

The goal will be to give the user an opportunity to proactively plan desired activities, prepare for
programming the remote, and achieve a successful result.
