Bagel Dough - Programme 10
Basic dough for dinner rolls or breadsticks. Shape into rolls or breadsticks and bake in your own oven.

Granulated Sugar

Strong white bread flour

Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6. Remove the dough from your bread maker and cut it into 8 equal pieces. Shape
each piece into a ball and using floured hands, work the ball into a ring using your finger to make a donut shape. Bring a
large pan of water to the boil then turn it down to a simmer. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Gently
lower about three bagels into the water and poach for about two minutes turning the bagels once. Remove, drain and place
the poached bagels on a baking sheet. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
