Instance 1 > Output > Local > Destination chooses the program channel, Program 1, Program 2
or both that will be replaced or ducked behind the Local input.
Instance 1 > Output > Local > Local Audio Override drop down offers 4 selections:
•
Off: no override or replace
•
VOX: if there is audio on the DRC Local (9/10) input then the main program will
automatically be overridden. The Holdoff, Crossfade Speed and the duck level of the
program audio can all be adjusted in this menu. The main program can be muted or
ducked by n dB.
•
Override: When in override mode local audio replaces program audio until Override is
switched Off.
•
Replace: This is used to continuously replace program audio with local audio without
regard to whether or not there is audio on the 9/10 input.
•
GPI or IP based commands can be used to switch override on and off.

Dolby Insert
The Dolby encoder licensed to any Instance is internally connected so that DRC Program 1
output of that instance feeds the Dolby encoder. While this makes encoding the main program
audio easy there are circumstances when the connection needs to be broken.
Some broadcasters use a viewer ratings system encoder, which needs to be inserted after any
audio processing but before Dolby encoding.
To configure the Dolby insert proceed as follows for a 5.1 main program:
•
Instance 1 > Output Routing > AES Outputs.
•
Select AES Output 1/2 = Proc 1/2.
•
Select AES Output 3/4 = Proc 3/4.
•
Instance 1 > Output > Dolby Digital plus Encoder and Set Insert = On.
•
Instance 1 > Inputs > Return A. Select AES 1/2
•
Instance 1 > Inputs > Return B. Select AES ¾
