If SDI embedding is NOT enabled then all of the SDI audio channels in the SDI source are
passed to the SDI output.
•
The
de-embedder is always active
so any of the SDI embedded audio pairs can be
processed and the audio, including Dolby encoded audio, can be sent to any of the AES
digital audio outputs.
•
If SDI embedding is enabled then any of the following signals can be routed to any SDI
embedded output pair.
o
Any SDI embedded source pair can be routed to any SDI embedded output pair.
We call this audio (pair) shuffling.
o
Any AES digital audio input pair can be routed to any SDI embedded output pair.
o
Any of the processed output pairs (listed in 5.8.3 above) can be routed to any SDI
embedded output pair.
o
If a processed pair is chosen in the SDI Embedding menu then the specific
processed output is chosen in the Output Routing > AES/SDI Outputs > SDI
Outputs menu. See Figure 5-4.

SDI output routing is set in two different menus when SDI embedding is Enabled. Starting from
the main menu:
System > I/O Setup > SDI Embedding > SDI Embed.
If SDI embed does not have a check-mark then the SDI embedded inputs are passed through to
the embedded outputs with no change.
