If the pressure point turns dark green and feels damp,
the working speed is correct. The plant is visibly
weaker and begins to wilt.
If no dark green discolouration is visible, the working
speed was too fast.
If the weed is charred or burnt, the working speed was
too slow.
Execute the treatment at short, regular intervals so that the
plant has no opportunity to recover. Thus you get a
sufficiently clean surface faster.
Newly planted areas must be treated as soon as the
weeds are visible. The young plants are very sensitive and
are easier to kill.
In autumn the resistance of the plants is limited and a final
treatment would be very effective.
4.2.1 Igniting the weed burner
Open the valve of the gas cylinder.
Press the push-button on the hose break safety device to
pressurize the gas hose.
Check the gas connection of the cylinder for leaks (see
section 4.1.2, page 24).
Set the pressure regulator to 1 bar.
Press the ignition button.
Pull the switch bracket onto the handlebar tube. Gas
flows into the combustion chamber and is ignited.
4.2.2 Stopping the weed burner
Release the switch bracket The gas flow is stopped and
the flame goes out.
Close the gas valve of the gas cylinder when you leave
the machine.
