RS-232 Layer
ATTENTION!
The layer is available only for the following interface Modules: MODEX-IF-RS232, MODEX-IF-
2xRS232, MODEX-IF-RS232-RS422, MODEX-IF-RS232-IR, MODEX-IF-2ETH-RS232.
RS-232 Layer in the Crosspoint Menu
Port Properties
Click on the input or output port to open the port properties window.
INFO The input and output port settings are mirrored because the MODEX extenders have bidirectional
serial ports.
Available settings:

Change the name of the port;
▪
Mute/unmute the port;
▪
Lock/unlock the port;
▪
Baud rate: 4800, 9600, 14400, 28800, 38400,
56000, 57600, 115200; 128000, 153600, 230400,
256000, 460800;
▪
Data bits: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9;
▪
Parity: No parity, Odd, Even, Zero, One;
▪
Stop bits: 1, 1.5, or 2;
▪
Command injection:
–
Enable or disable;

TCP port number;
–
Command sending;

Infrared Layer
ATTENTION!
The layer is available only in case of the following interface Modules: MODEX-IF-RS232-IR
and MODEX-IF-2ETH-IR.
ATTENTION!
The extenders have no built-in Infrared receiver and transmitter. For the complete usage
attach an IR emitter unit to the IR OUT and an IR detector unit to the IR IN connectors.

Input Port Properties
Click on the desired input port to open the port properties window. There are two kinds of input ports in
the Infra layer:
Local IR input
(signal is coming from the attached infrared detector unit) and the
Link IR input
(signal is coming from the optical line).
Available settings:

Mute/unmute the port;

Lock/unlock the port;
▪
