3.10. Video Interface
The video crosspoint settings can be controlled by any of the following ways:
▪ Using the LCD menu by pressing the navigation buttons (see in Crosspoint Settings Menu section);
▪ Using the Lightware Device Controller (LDC) (see in Video Layer section);
▪ Sending LW3 protocol commands (see Video Port and Crosspoint Settings section), or
▪ Using the
Autoselect
function, see in The Autoselect Feature section.
3.10.1. Video Inputs in MODEX Transmitters
The MODEX transmitter can receive video signal from three types of sources (depending on the installed
video module):

3.11. The Autoselect Feature
Besides manual crosspoint selection you can choose
the Autoselect option for both audio and video ports.
There are three types of Autoselect as follows.
▪
First detect mode
: selected input port is kept
connected to the output while it has an active
signal
▪
Priority detect mode
: always the highest priority
active input is selected to transmit.
▪
Last detect mode
: always the last attached input is
selected to transmit.
INFO: The input ports where the priority is set to 31
will not be scanned

Automatic Input Selection - Example
The Concept
If no other source but the laptop is connected to the transmitter, HDMI IN 3 input will be automatically
switched to the OPT output. If the Laptop and the PC are also connected to the transmitter, HDMI IN 2
input will be switched to the OPT output. If the Blu-ray player is connected on the HDMI IN 1 input of the
transmitter, it will be switched to the OPT output – regardless of the presence of other video signals.
