Using printer menus
NetWare
Use this menu selection to view or change the printer NetWare settings.
Honor DSR
Determines whether the
printer uses the Data Set
Ready (DSR) signal. DSR is
one of the handshaking
signals for most serial
interface cables.
The serial interface uses DSR
to distinguish data sent by the
computer from data created by
electrical noise in the serial
cable. This electrical noise can
cause stray characters to print.
Select On to prevent stray
characters from printing.
Off*
All data received by the serial port is
treated as valid data.
On
Only data received while the DSR
signal is high is treated as valid.

Purpose

View Login Name
Displays the assigned
NetWare login name.
Selecting View Login Name displays the NetWare name on the
operator panel.
View Print Mode
Displays the assigned
NetWare print mode.
Selecting View Print Mode displays the NetWare print mode on
the operator panel.
View Network
Number
Displays the assigned
NetWare number.
Selecting View Network Number displays the NetWare network
number on the operator panel.
Activate
Activates or deactivates the
NetWare feature.
On

On—Activates the NetWare feature.
Off—Deactivates the NetWare feature.

Sets the Ethernet 802.2 value
