Using the
multipurpose
feeder
The multipurpose feeder holds 50 sheets of paper,
30 transparencies, 30 sheets of labels, 9 envelopes or 30 card
stock sheets. Refer to the Setup Guide for instructions on load-
ing media in the multipurpose feeder.
If you want to use the multipurpose feeder like you use other
trays, ensure the MP menu item in the Paper Menu is set to Cas-
sette.
Note:
Do not close the multi-
purpose feeder while paper or
envelopes are in the feeder.
You can also use the multipurpose feeder to manually feed a sin-
gle sheet or envelope.
To load paper in the multipurpose feeder:

Pull the front of the multipurpose feeder down.

Before loading the media, flex the sheets back and
forth to loosen them, and then fan them.
Straighten the edges on a level surface.
