Cutting Device Protection
Note!
See separate operating manual "PRO-LINK for RPC 445",
chapter "Cutting device protection".
Attention!
Deactivation of the cutting device protection is a special
function for removing knife slot blockages. Deactivation of
the cutting device production is not permitted during daily
production! Daily production is only permissible with 40 bar.
The cutting device protection must be reactivated
immediately after removal of the knife slot blockages to
avoid damage to the cutting device.
To protect the cutting device against mechanical overload (e.g.
when large stones or hard wood parts get into the cutting
device), the knives of the cutting device are hydraulically
protected. This cutting device protection limits the hydraulic
pressure – available to the knives – to a standard pressure of
40 bar. Only this standard pressure is available for moving the
knives to cutting position.
If the knife slots are clogged, this standard pressure may not be
sufficient. A by-pass function is therefore available which
permits putting cutting device protection out of operation. This
means, the knives move out of the feed channel floor to cutting
position with the full hydraulic pressure of 180 bar and thus can
remove blockages at the knife slots.
