3.14 Driving on the road
This machine is an agricultural trailer machine with a dead
weight of more than 3 t and therefore requires permission to
operate it.
The maximum speed permissible for road traffic results from the
national regulations in force in the user's country. Permissible
maximum speeds of individual assembly groups do not say
anything about the permissible maximum speed of the complete
machine. In this manual, type-conditioned maximum speeds err
stated exclusively. Any deviating national regulations must be
observed.
When travelling on the road, a service brake and an electric
lighting system must be provided to satisfy road traffic
regulations. These are already installed on the machine. For
travelling on public roads and tracks, we refer you to the lighting
regulations for trailer machinery. For this purpose, the
connecting cable supplied with the machine must be plugged
into the socket on the tractor and the socket on the machine.
Correct functioning of the lighting set must be tested at regular
intervals. Moreover: keep clean all direction indicators, brake,
reverse and side marker lamps, as well as rear and side
reflectors. The operator is to make sure that none of the lighting
equipment is covered by harvested crop hanging over the sides
of the machine. Furthermore, the national regulations of the
country in which the machine is used must be observed.
Attention, danger of injury!
Before travelling on public roads the following requirements
must be met: see chapter "Driving on the Road", page 81.
The wheel chocks (2 in number) which are part of the safety
equipment are to be carried on the machine at all times.
