7.7 Main menu – Backup
The Backup menu includes selections for saving or loading
to/from either MRAM or Flash. MRAM is a magnetic
memory on the backplane used to store rack configuration
data. On power up the SCM loads the configuration from the
MRAM. On power down, a ride-thru circuit allows the SCM
to store the current configuration to MRAM. If an SCM is
replaced, the rack configuration is not lost.
Flash backup is stored in SCM flash memory. This is an
additional backup location or safe-keep, to use in the event the MRAM configuration would become
corrupted. It is good practice to save to this backup as well after making configuration changes.
7.7.1 Backup – MRAM
This menu has dialog selections to save and load rack
configuration data to/from MRAM. MRAM is magnetic
RAM located on the backplane.
7.7.2 MRAM - Save
This dialog lets you save the current configuration in RAM to
MRAM.
Press # to save the configuration.
To exit this dialog, do an escape using the “enter/esc” button.
