13. Troubleshooting
Problem
Required Action
Command interpreter on
the serial port emulator
is not available
•
Verify that the correct serial port COM is used on your computer.
•
Verify that the USB cable is properly secured.
•
Verify that the power cable is properly secured.
•
If the cabling connection seems secure, verify your serial port terminal
configuration (Baud rate, Data, Parity, Stop bits, Flow control).
LeddarSteer does not
detect the DBSD
temperature
•
Verify that the liquid crystal cell and temperature acquisition harness are
properly secured.
•
Verify that the number of cell temperature sensors is correctly set, using
the serial port emulator

14. Maintenance
Manipulation
Avoid touching the optical surfaces as fingerprints can permanently damage
the optical coatings.
Cleaning the
optical surfaces
•
Blow off dust using compressed air.
•
Clean the optical surfaces with premium optical cleaning tissues only, such as
ThorLabs
™
MC-5 lens tissues.
Do not use Kimwipes™ or cotton
-tipped applicators. If needed, clean the
optical surfaces with isopropyl alcohol instead.

Like any electronic equipment, the LeddarSteer Evaluation Board contains environmentally unsustainable
components. Dispose of in an environmentally responsible manner.
