In the event of a power failure the batter y backup provided may not

lift the user to a fully raised position.

In the event of a power failure, if you require a lift to the fully raised

position or multiple lifts and recline, a batter y backup system may

be purchased separately. Contact your La-Z-Boy

®

Dealer for more

Replace the Power Transfor mer batter ies ever y six months and after

each power failure use.

Batter y Backup Assembly Instructions

In the event of a power failure the batter y backup should return the user to the

seated position from a fully raised position or a full recline position, one time.

The Batter y Backup is located on the Power Transfor mer and uses two 9-volt

alkaline batter ies (not included).

1. Unplug the Power Transfor mer from the electr ical outlet.

2. Pull the connection ca ps with wires under the br idge on the Power

Transfor mer. Place the connection ca ps over the batter y ter minals on each

Power Recliners with 6-Motor Massage & Heat

There are no user maintenance or repair requirements . If the lift recliner does

not wor k:

1

Make sure the Power Transfor mer is plugged into an electr ical outlet.

2. Make sure the electr ical outlet is wor king. For example, make sure there are

no blown fuses or tr ipped circuit breaker s .

3. Make sure all the connector s are secured; refer to the Assembly Instr uctions .

4. Make sure the electr ical cords are not cr imped or pinched. Make sure the

electr ic cord or plug is not damaged.

5. Make sure the operating ca pacity of 350 pounds has not been exceeded

and there is only one occupant in the chair.

If the lift recliner still does not operate properly, contact your dealer for

instructions on retur ning the chair for examination and repair. Except for

replacement of the Power Transfor mer,

never attempt to make any repairs or

adjustments yourself.

Power Transformer Replacement

If the Power Transfor mer must be replaced:

1. Unplug the Power Transfor mer from the electr ical outlet.

2. Locate the Power Transfor mer connection; refer to the Assembly Instructions.

Gently pull the connector s a par t to disengage.

3. Push the replacement Power Transfor mer connector into the mating

connector; refer to the Assembly Instr uctions .

Make sure the connectors

are secured with no gaps between them.
