To reduce the risk of injur y:

Do not operate the unit until the back is installed and locked.

1. Install the back.

Lay the back across the ar ms of the body. Lift the back at a slight angle

and align the brackets on the back with the brackets on the body (F

IGURE

1).

Lower the back onto the body, making sure the back and body brackets

are completely engaged.

To make sure the back is proper ly installed with both sets of back and

body brackets engaged, stand behind the chair and twist the back from

side to side. If one or both sides move out of position the brackets are

not engaged (F

To reduce the risk of serious injur y:

Check the condition of the power transfor mer s , electr ical cords , plugs

and connector s monthly. Keep the power transfor mer and electr ical

cords away from heat sources. Never operate the unit with a damaged

power transfor mer, electr ical cord, plug or connector. Contact your

La-Z-Boy

®

dealer for ser vice.

NOTICE:

Do not plug the transformer in until instructed.

2. Locate and connect the Power Transfor mer.

Locate the Power Transfor mer secured to the rear rail. Carefully cut the

ca ble tie and remove the Power Transfor mer from the rear rail. Remove

the packing and unwind the cord.

Locate the Motor Extension Wire attached to the rear of the motor

Align the white dot on the Power Transfor mer connector with the arrow

on the Motor Extension connector (F

5). Push the connectors together

until they are secured, with no ga ps between them.

3. Attach the outside back upholster y cover.

Pull the outside back upholster y cover down tight. Fir mly press the

fastening ta pe on the outside back upholster y cover to the fastening

ta pe on the bottom of the rear rail.

To reduce the risk of serious injur y:

Provide a clear path for operation of the chair, back and legrest.

Place ta bles and area r ugs at a distance to allow the legrest to fully

extend without r ubbing or interference.

4. Choose a location for the chair that is close to an electr ical outlet and

proceed to the Operating Instr uctions .
