Section 3: Adjustments

Loosen jam nut (#3) and back it away from deck lift
block (#1) approximately 1".

Turn adjusting nut (#2) several turns away from deck
lift block (#1).

Refer to Figure 3-12 & Figure 3-13:

Unscrew jam nut (#11) from trunnion block (#9) four
or more turns. Typical both sides.

8.

Unscrew adjusting nut (#10) from trunnion block (#9)
approximately 1". Typical both sides.

Refer to Figure 3-13:

Loosen 5/16” jam nut (#16). Back adjuster bolt (#15)
out until adjuster (#17) can move up and down freely.

Refer to Figure 3-11 & Figure 3-12:

10. Set cutting height at 3 1/4” by turning deck height

adjusting stop (#5) so that the flat side is against stop
handle (#4) and then place adjusting stop into the 3”
cutting height hole in deck height gauge bar (#6)
(See deck height indicator (#7) to locate 3" hole.)

11. Turn adjusting nut (#2) against deck lift block (#1)

until front deck lift chain (#14) on the left side is tight
and deck is still resting on the 3" support blocks.

12. Tighten jam nut (#3) against deck lift block (#1).

IMPORTANT: Refer to Figure 3-13: Deck lift
rod (#13) connection at the rear is fixed and is not
adjustable. All adjustments to level and set deck
height must be made at the front.

13. Be sure adjuster (#17) is free to move up and down.

Tighten adjuster bolt (#15) until front deck lift chain
on the right side becomes tight. Make sure mower
deck stays tight against 3” support blocks.

14. Tighten jam nut (#16).

15. Turn adjusting nut (#10) against trunnion block (#9)

until it makes contact and deck lift chain is tight.
Make sure mower deck stays tight against 3" support
blocks. Typical both sides.

16. Tighten jam nut (#11) against trunnion block (#9).

Typical both sides.
