WARNING
Unless specifically required, DO NOT have engine running
when making adjustments to the mower. Place both control
levers in the park position (OUT), pull up on park brake lever
to (ON) and remove ignition switch key. Read and observe
safety warnings in front of manual on Operator Section.
Adjustments requiring engine power should be performed by
trained personnel only. To prevent carbon monoxide
poisoning, be sure proper ventilation is available when engine
must be operated in an enclosed area.
Your Accu-Z mower was adjusted before it left the factory
and checked for proper operation during
pre-delivery set-up. However, break-in wear and
continued use can cause some adjustments to change.
•
Be alert for unusual noises while operating the mower.
They could be signaling a problem.
•
Visually inspect for abnormal wear or damage while
servicing and making adjustments to the mower.
Torque Requirements
Refer to “Torque Values Chart” on page 62 for standard
torque values and "Additional Torque Values" at bottom
of chart for exceptions to standard values.
Tire Pressure
Before considering any adjustment, check tire air
pressure. Unequal tire pressure will cause mower to drift
to one side. Refer to “Tire Inflation Chart” on page 63.
Steering Adjustments
The steering levers on the mower may over time require
readjusting to operate smoothly. Also, there are some
adjustments that can made now that will make operating
the mower more comfortable.
Neutral Creep Adjustment
The steering has been factory adjusted to stop neutral
creep. Neutral creep is when a drive wheel rotates under
power while the control levers are in neutral. Eliminate
neutral creep by adjusting the length of the steering
linkage rods. Before making any adjustment, make
certain hydraulic oil temperature is at normal operating
levels and tire pressure is at the specified psi. Unequal
tire pressure can cause the mower to drift to one side.
See “Tire Inflation Chart” on page 63.
Refer to Figure 3-1:

WARNING
Make certain mower is secure when placed on jack stands.
Jack stands should not allow mower to move when engine is
running and drive wheels are rotating. Use only certified jack
stands.
1.
