If the battery power is too low to run any tests,
a brief message will be displayed.
BATTERY DEAD
RECHARGE
IMMEDIATELY
BYE!
The SMART Colorimeter will then turn itself off. The battery must be
recharged soon. Storing batteries in a discharged condition may shorten
their lifetime.
If complete battery failure occurs the SMART Colorimeter can still
operate by disconnecting the battery by setting the Battery Disconnect
Button to the “out” position and running on external power.
Press the Battery Disconnect Button on the back of the colorimeter so
that it is in the “out position”. This electrically disconnects the battery
and requires that the AC adapter or the Cigarette Lighter adapter be
used to operate the colorimeter.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
The battery has an approximate life of 250 tests per charge. If the battery
does not charge, disconnect the battery with the Battery Disconnect
Button and operate the colorimeter with the AC or Cigarette Lighter
adapters. Contact the Technical Services Department of LaMotte
Company at 800-344-3100 (410-778-3100) for battery replacement
information.
LIGHT BULB
The tungsten bulb in the colorimeter has an approximate life of 150,000
tests. If a test is performed and there is no response and the unit is
receiving adequate power, the light bulb may need to be replaced.. Look
down into the sample chamber and use the test function
SCAN BLANK
or
SCAN SAMPLE
to determine whether a light can be detected.
REPLACING THE LIGHT BULB
The light bulb will be replaced free of charge if it burns out. Please
contact LaMotte Technical Services Department by phone at
800-344-3100 (410-778-3100) or fax 410-778-6394.
