Belly Plate:
Belly plate fits into lower torso by a ledge on plate and
corresponding groove on torso cavity.
To remove:
1.
Pull out plate by applying pressure to center of plate.
2.
Work fingers under edge of plate and lift out.
To insert:
1.
Position plate over cavity.
2.
Work edges into groove on torso cavity.
Laerdal Recommends:
Belly plate also contains urinary reservoir and
colostomy stoma. To fill reservoir, remove colostomy
stoma and fill, then reinsert stoma.
Injection Pads:
Squeeze pad together with fingers and pull out to remove.
To replace, reverse the procedure.
Waist, Elbow, Knee and Ankle Joints:
These joints are connected by a bolt and lock nut.
To remove, unscrew lock nut.
Laerdal Recommends:
When assembled, talcum
powder should be used in
joints to assist articulation.
Pull bolt out of joint. Segments
will now easily disconnect.
Arms and Legs:
The arms are attached using a bolt,
three washers, a spring and a wing
nut.
To attach arm:
1.
Remove chest plate from manikin to locate hole in
shoulder.
2.
Remove deltoid injection pad from arm.
3.
Unscrew wing nut from bolt in arm.
4.
Remove wing nut, two washers and spring.
5.
Insert bolt through hole in shoulder.
6.
Slide one washer, spring and second washer back
over bolt.
7.
Use a screwdriver to hold bolt steady while
tightening wing nut. (Figure 1)
