EXPERT 2000 SPEED-UP LAST-MINUTE
INFORMATION ON CATERPILLAR
ENGINE
Important information to read:
Start-up procedure and driving positions:
On Labrie Expert 2000 units using Caterpillar
engine and multiple driving positions, the start-
up procedure was modified to prevent problems
with the engine speed-up system while
selecting auxiliary acceleration pedals. The
following start-up procedure proposed in this
document, supersedes the start-up procedure
found in the Standard Operator's Manual and
must be applied. However, all safety
precautions in the Operator's Manual are
mandatory during start-up procedure and
operations.
On units equipped with 2 sets acceleration of
pedals, they are identified on the selector switch
as "Left" or "Right", where "Left" is the
START-UP PROCEDURE
(2 sets of pedals)
•
Enter the cab;
•
Ensure the Parking Brake is "On";
•
PTO switch "Off";
•
Prior to starting engine, make sure
the pedal selector switch is set to
"Left", otherwise, Speed-up system
will not work when the "Right" set
of pedals is selected;
•
Start the engine;
•
Wait until air pressure is raised to
90PSI;
•
Select the proper cab controls (left
or right);
•
Before changing driving position,
refer to operator's manual, section
3.1.7.
START-UP PROCEDURE
(3 sets of pedals)
•
Enter the cab;
•
Ensure the Parking Brake is "On";
•
PTO switch "Off";
•
Prior to starting engine, make sure
the pedal selector switch is set to
"Center". Otherwise, Speed-up
system will not work when the "Left"
or "Right" set of pedals is selected;
•
Start the engine;
•
Wait until air pressure is raised to
90PSI;
•
Select the proper cab controls (left
or right);
•
Before changing driving position,
refer to operator's manual, section
3.1.7.

manufacturer, and the right-hand side set of
pedals is identified as "Right".
DO NOT START THE ENGINE IF THE
PEDAL SELECTOR SWITCH IS NOT SET
TO "LEFT". OTHERWISE THE ENGINE
SPEED-UP SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK.
Expert 2000 units equipped with 3 sets of
acceleration pedals are identified on a selector
switch as "Left", "Center", or "Right". The
"Left" position is used during stand up driving
position or collection mode from the left-hand
side. The "Center" position is the standard
issued set of pedals from the chassis
manufacturer; this is the standard driving
position. The right-hand side set of pedals is
identified as "Right"; it is used during
collection mode from the right-hand side.
DO NOT START THE ENGINE IF THE
PEDAL SELECTOR SWITCH IS NOT SET
TO "CENTER". OTHERWISE THE ENGINE
SPEED-UP SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK.
