6.1.6 Friction slip clutch
- Check the condition of the friction slip clutch:
Checking and Adjusting:
- Remove cut-out clutch guard.
- Loosen nuts to release friction discs (a).
- Let the friction discs slip for a few seconds (b).
For a pto speed of 1000/min:
- Tighten nuts to the dimension (L) of 33 mm (1.3’’).
The friction slip clutch is ready to function.
- Regularly check torque limiter, especially
after a long storage period.
When the friction slip clutch is properly adjusted,
it only heats up slightly.
The friction slip clutch may slip when:
• The springs are not tight enough.
• The machine hits an obstacle.
- Readjust if necessary.
- Never fully tighten springs to prevent
damage on drive components. Loosen at
least by 1/2 turn.
Overheating causes premature wear on slip
clutch components.
- It is essential to reinstall the guard.
