Handling the swather
when in use
4.1 Mounting on the tractor
As described in Point 3.3, attach the swather to the
tractor, couple the universal drive shaft and secure.
• When attaching the rotary swather
make sure that no-one remains
between the implement and the
tractor.
• No-one may remain in the slewing
range of the swather disk arms!
The swather disks are secured against overloading by
so-called star-ratchet couplings. These star ratchets (1)
are located on the side output shafts of the transfer
gearbox behind the rotor arms.
In the event of overloading, they produce a scraping
noise. They transmit the applied torque in pulses.
In order to prevent premature wear on the overload
protection feature, switch off the universal drive shaft
immediately, if the star ratchets respond during
overloading.
The overload protection feature may
not be adjusted. The guarantee is
canceled if overload protection devices
other than those provided ex-works are
used!
