3.3.8 Connecting the PTO Shaft
• Make sure that the universal drive shaft
is the correct length when chan-ging
tractors! (see Chapter 3.3.8)
• During all care, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the rotary swather, switch off the
PTO. Shut down the engine, Remove the ignition key. Secure tractor and rotary swather
against rolling away!
3.3.9 Length adaption
Check the slewing range and clearance for
the universal drive shaft! Contact between
the universal drive shaft and tractor or
implement will result in damage. (e.g.
hitching device, draw bar)
• Take apart the universal drive shaft.
• Clip one half (1) and (2) onto the tractor and the other
to the implement.
(The wide angle coupling must be installed on the
implement. Note the labeling on the universal drive
shaft.)
• Move the rotary swather to the position where the
universal drive shaft is at its shortest. (straight
ahead)
• The rest of the procedure can be found in the manual
provided by the universal drive shaft manufacturer.
• Swing the PTO shaft holder (2) upwards.
• Slide PTO shaft (1) onto PTO end.
• Prevent shaft protection with holding chain from
rotating with the shaft (wide angle at implement).
A protective device must be used on
the tractor and the machine.
Only the PTO shaft supplied may be
used.
