Preparing for operation
2.6.2 General
CAUTION: The disc mower is designed to travel
forwards. Never drive backwards if the machine is
switched on and in working position. First lift the
cutter bar.
2.6.3 Protective cloth covers
•
Move the protective cloth covers
•
Replace worn or damaged protective cloth covers
immediately.
ATTENTION! When installing the front guard
cloths, mind the correct overlap of the cloths in the
centre: the left hand cloth must be located in front
of the right hand one (when seen in the travel
direction).
2.6 Preparing the machine for operation
2.6.1 Safety notes before operating the mower
•
Only work on the mower unit when the PTO shaft and engine are switched off, and
the ignition key removed! Secure the tractor from unintentional operation and rolling
away!
•
Check the protective devices from damage before every use. Replace damaged
protective devices immediately. Danger of injury!
•
Support the raised cutter bar! Never walk underneath raised loads!
•
Safe operation is only guaranteed when the cutter blades have been assembled
correctly!
•
Check the mower unit before every use for damaged, missing or worn cutter blades,
and replace cutter blades if necessary! The same applies to retaining components!
•
Only replace missing or damaged cutter blades in sets to avoid imbalances!
•
Never assemble unevenly worn cutter blades to a drum or disc!
•
Also check the retaining components every time the cutter blades are changed, and
replace if necessary!
•
Engaged the protective devices.
CAUTION: Check the oil level in the gearbox and
the cutterbar. Check the tyre pressure.
