Maintenance
Fill the system with the prescribed or a suitable hydraulic fluid. The correct hydraulic
fluid, and in particular its viscosity, is decisive for the trouble-free operation of the system.
Check the hydraulic fluid for the ingress of water.
Check the hose and pipe connections regularly for leaks and tighten them. Screw
connections may be retightened only when the system is depressurised. Defective pipes and
hoses must be replaced immediately.
Information
The hydraulic drive is structurally suitable for long, trouble-free operation. It requires little
maintenance. This is indispensable, however, since experience shows that up to 80% of the all
occurring faults can be attributed to dirt, poor maintenance and the wrong oil selection.
Checking the oil level
Check the level before putting into
operation and after 8 hours of operation.
Remove the steering shaft cover and
unscrew the dipstick. The oil must be
at the marking on the dipstick with
the 2-wheel tractor in a horizontal
position. The oil level should not fall
below the minimum level marked on
the dipstick. Top up the oil if
necessary and tighten the dipstick
firmly.
Changing the oil
The oil and oil filter must be exchanged every six months or yearly depending on the oper-
ating conditions - see also the maintenance plan. The service should be carried by an au-
thorised
workshop.
•
Allow the drive to run for a short while before changing the oil, so that the warm oil can
drain out more easily.
•
Remove the steering shaft cover.
•
Remove the dipstick (fig. 30).
•
Place an oil collecting container under the oil drain pipe (fig. 31 – page 35).
•
Unscrew the oil drain plug - CAUTION - the oil can be hot!
•
Drain the oil, then screw in the drain plug again and tighten it firmly.
•
Unscrew the oil filter flange – 4 screws (fig. 31 - page 35) - CAUTION - the oil can be hot!
•
Exchange the filter element with the o-ring.
•
Examine the o-ring on the oil filter cover for damage and aging and replace it if necessary!
•
Firmly screw the oil filter cover on again.
•
Carefully pour in the oil (engine oil 10W-30 [fully synthetic], approx. 2 litres) through the
oil filler neck.
•
Unscrew the oil bleed screw on the oil filter housing (fig. 31).
•
Carefully pour in the remaining oil (approx. 1.3 litres), until oil runs out of the vent aper-
ture on the filter housing.
