5. Grasp the roller plate handle.

6. Tilt the roller plate toward the back of the machine.
7. Remove the roller plate by carefully guiding it between the feeder
top cover and the roller, which is located in front of the Document
Scanning Array.
8. Remove any documents found underneath the roller plate.
9. Replace the roller plate, holding it by the handle and gently guiding
it between the feeder cover and the roller which is located in front
of the Document Scanning Array.

10. Grasp the front edge of the feeder cover and raise the feeder
cover.
