Operating Temperature Adjustment

Note: If the heat exchanger is not located on the reservoir, then there
may be no water modulating valve located as shown.
The visual indicator (differential pressure gage) indicates when the filter
element should be changed. Note that the visual indicator should be
observed while the pump is running, with oil temperature at least 115
deg F. within the above conditions, the oil filter should be replaced when
the indicator reads 40 psi or greater. Continued operation at a pressure
differential greater than this level will result in hydraulic oil bypassing
the filter element. When adding hydraulic oil to the reservoir, use the oil
fill fitting located next to the oil filter. A suitable filter buggy is
recommended for transferring oil from the barrel to the reservoir.
The operating temperature is adjusted by turning the water modulating
valve (2) adjusting knob with a flat blade screwdriver. Clockwise
increases the oil temperature.
The water modulating valve regulates the cooling flow that enters at port
“D” to the heat exchanger (3) and then discharges through port “C” to the
drain.
