Winch Installation (Continued)
B. Take the end of the rope without the hook thimble and place it through the hawse and pass it under the winch through the
hole in the drum. Pull enough rope through the hole so that it almost reaches the entire length of the drum.
C. Use an adhesive tape to hold the end of the rope to the drum.
D. You are now ready to wind the rope onto the drum. 8-10 wraps must remain on the drum at all times to keep the rope from
slipping off the drum under tension. Apply these wraps under moderate tension (Less than 200 lbs.) Make sure the rope is lay-
ing on the drum from the bottom of the drum.
Please follow all the winch safety precautions as noted in your owner’s manual.
Your SWR is sensative to abrasion:
• Abrasion will limit the life of your SWR.
• Keep the SWR clear of stones, gravel and other contaminants. Inspect and clean before and after use.
• Avoid sharp angles as they may cause immediate failure under load.
• Use pulley blocks if exceeding 50% of the winches rated load.
