• The person cycling the bike must be aged 18 or older, and be familiar with the
applicable traffic regulations
• The bike that is used to pull the trailer must be in good condition and have good
brakes A cycle shop can help to check the bike and ensure that it is in good
condition The bike should be fitted with rear-view mirrors Cycling with the trailer
in darkness (including dawn/dusk) is inappropriate
• Do not overload the bike trailer The bike trailer’s maximum capacity is 45 kg
– cargo and passengers Position the cargo as low as possible, and in the middle of
the trailer Any additional luggage should be placed further back All luggage
should be secured in place so that it cannot slide off or overturn
• IMPORTANT: Talk with the children and ensure that they understand that they must
not swing, bounce or lean out as it may cause the bike trailer to overturn The tow
bar must not be loaded with additional weight
• Do not fit any other seats in the bike trailer It is not designed for use with car seats,
pushchair seats, baby carriers or other types of seating If any type of seating is
used other than the one which was originally fitted in the bike trailer, the warranty
is immediately invalidated, and such use can lead to damage to the trailer and/or
injury to passengers
• Towing the trailer affects the bike Starting, stopping and turning the bicycle feels
different depending on how heavily loaded the trailer is Load the bike trailer to its
maximum amount (45 kg) and practise in a safe place Do not use the bike trailer
out in traffic before you have learned how it affects cycling
• WARNING – RISK OF CHOKING: Plastic bags can be dangerous Avoid risk of choking
by storing plastic bags out of the reach of children
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CYCLIST
Follow these instructions for a safe bike ride:
• Check before use that the bike trailer is correctly assembled in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions
• Before attaching the bike trailer onto the bike, ensure that the bike has been
inspected by a qualified bike mechanic and is deemed to be suitable for the purpose
• Check that once hitched to the bike, the trailer does not affect the capacity to
brake, pedal and steer the bike
• Check that the brakes are working correctly The braking distance increases when
using a bike trailer
• The turning radius is considerably larger with a bike trailer hitched on! Do not make
any sharp turns
• Children should be positioned in the middle of the trailer
