8.2 "NEED TEST" error messages
The error messages listed in the table below indicate faults which need to be che‐
cked but will not cause a program to be aborted.
Note
KaVo recommends checking the fault and taking the recommended action quickly.
Malfunction
Cause
Remedy
NEED TEST CD 1
Dirty drain filter
▶ Clean or replace the filter.
NEED TEST CD 2
The upper heating element is rea‐
ching the calculated temperatures
too late.
▶ Run the program with reduced
volume. Check the mains volta‐
ge.
▶ Contact customer service if ne‐
cessary.
NEED TEST CD 3
The lower heating element is rea‐
ching the calculated temperatures
too late.
▶ Run the program with reduced
volume.
▶ Contact customer service if ne‐
cessary.
NEED TEST CD 4
The water level meter is blocked or
the H
2
O filter is soiled.
▶ Clean the fresh water tank to re‐
move all evidence of soiling.
▶ Maintain the filter.
▶ Carry out cleaning.
NEED TEST CD 5
The water feed valve is faulty.
▶ If the fault reappears, contact
customer service no later than
after the third occurrence.
NEED TEST CD 6
The bacteriological filter is blocked. ▶ Replace the bacteriological fil‐
ter.
NEED TEST CD 7
The vacuum phase is too long.
▶ Dry the chamber.
▶ Carry out cleaning.
