During its work, the program also uses several databases stored on the server’s
hard disk:
•
Configuration database (see Chapter 4 on page 30).
•
Check-up database (see section 8.1 on page 58).
•
Quarantine database for mail and documents (see sections 8.2.1-8.2.2 on
pages 59-61).
•
Report database (see section 8.3 on page 63).
The Hook module and the scanning modules, Monitor and Scanner, start
automatically during boot of the Domino server (if the corresponding settings

have been made in the configuration file
notes.ini
).
This can be checked in the
respective lines of the report database log (for more details please refer to
section 8.3 on page 63).
After starting, the
Hook
module intercepts all messages placed by the Domino
server to the mailboxes (
mail*.box
files), and redirects them to the check-up
database (for more details please refer to section 8.1 on page 57).
The
Monitor
module scans the messages in the check-up database for viruses
and processes these messages according to the configuration base antiviral
protection parameters (see Chapter 4 on page 30). For example, the module can
